Rotary riveting indexer for multi-part assembly

Problem
An automotive parts manufacturer needed a dedicated machine to form rivets across three part variants without adding a separate fixture or manual riveting station for each one.
Approach
We designed an 8-station rotary indexer combining operator-loaded rivet insertion, two automated rivet-forming stations, a robot-integrated part-flipping station (robot and programming supplied by the customer), and automated part unload, built around recipe-driven changeover between the three product configurations instead of physical retooling. Scope covered mechanical design and fabrication, safety fencing with E-stops and interlocked guards, electrical design, PLC programming, and on-site installation support.
Outcome
One machine now forms rivets across all three part configurations with a recipe change instead of a tooling changeover, replacing what would otherwise be multiple dedicated riveting stations.
